I am NOT from Utah and Mormons aren't all this weird...

Sometimes I am amazed by the people that I share the state with. No wonder the world thinks Mormons are weird.
Case in point, American Idol and David Archuletta.

For those of you who missed it, or really don't care, last week each contestant was allowed to come home and last night, that footage was shown. David Archuletta is from Murray, so that was the big news here. He got to sing for his school, meet the governor, etc. And it just so happened that each contestant found out what song they were singing by a person from home.
Ok.
David is at a pep rally with thousands of screaming girls, other admirers, and the governor of the state.
The mayor of Murray is the lucky man who gets to announce what he will be singing.
This mayor is going to be on national television in front of MILLIONS of people.
How does he choose to represent Murray, Utah, Mormons, and those they elect to office....
by wearing slacks and a dress shirt?
OH NO....
Now this picture doesn't do the early nineties jeans and American Flag shirt justice. For that, watch the video.
Plus the white, handle bar mustache. Who does that?
I now know why we get such a bad rap.
I AM NOT FROM UTAH AND I DO NOT SUPPORT WHITE HANDLE BAR MUSTACHES WITH OUTDATED FLAG SHIRTS.
